International CHRIE seeks Executive Director
International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education – the Hospitality and Tourism Educators
ICHRIE – International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education –established in 1946, seeks a new individual to lead the organization in its reemergence as the preeminent association of educators and scholars in hospitality, tourism, and related fields. ICHRIE, a non-profit professional association, provides programs and services to improve the quality of global education, research, service and business operations in the hospitality and tourism industry. ICHRIE, an inclusive, collegial association, values creative, ethical and progressive action and honors inclusivity, participation, knowledge, collaboration, and the spirit of hospitality in the improvement of global hospitality and tourism education and research.
The next Director of ICHRIE will successfully:
- Collaborate with the volunteer board of directors to meet the challenges of a post-Covid environment for the association
- Foster a culture of responsiveness and transparency to member needs engaging all stakeholders to advance ICHRIE’s global mission
- Affirm ICHRIE’s value proposition to industry stakeholders and other partners to enable innovation and thought leadership among its members
- Sustain sound and prudent management practices, congruent with association standards and best practices in compliance with association by-laws, among the organization’s staff and stakeholders
The new ICHRIE Director will have:
- Association (or relevant non-profit) experience of 7 or more years
- A minimum of a four-year college degree
- An established record of successful change management practices through collaboration and strategic thinking
- Empathetic relationship management and strong communication skills
- A consistent and authentic hospitality spirit and passion for education
- A strong marketing orientation and ability to enlist hospitality and related industry partners
