Since 2016, the APacCHRIE Lifetime Achievement Award is annually presented at the conference to a distinguished individual with outstanding contributions to the hospitality and tourism industry and education in the Asia-Pacific region as well as to APacCHRIE.
The 2026 APacCHRIE Lifetime Achievement Award went to Prof. Chi-Yeh Yung, Emeritus Chair Professor of Tunghai University. Congratulations!
The previous awards were listed as follows:
2016 – Mr. Chanin Donavanik, Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Executive Committee of Dusit International as well as the Founder of Dusit Thani College
2017 – Dr. Ho Kwon Ping, Founder and Executive Chairman of Banyan Tree Holdings
2018 – Dr. Fu-Teng Li, Founder of National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism
2019 – Dr. Jennifer Cronin, President of the Wharf Hotels Management Limited
The presentation of the awards had come to a halt during the COVID periods from 2020-2022.
2023 – Ms. Sylvia Chung, Chief Business Impact Officer, Chinachem Group
2024 Prof. Ilsun Yang, Professor Emeritus of Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea
2025 – Mrs. Suphajee Suthumpun, Chief Executive Officer of Dusit International
